Ken Freestone - Secretary, Specialization Unlimited
For more than 35 years Ken has worked to preserve, protect, and provide access to natural resources for humans and all forms of nature. It is both his professional and personal passion to serve nature and to protect our resources for people today and for generations to follow. He has also spent the past 35 years inspiring people to use their creative talents and resources in whatever way is important for them, personally, professionally and for community enrichment and engagement.
Ken also started playing musical instruments at the age of 61. His passion for ukulele has launched him into playing with his group PB & Jam, performing at schools, senior centers, nursing homes and private events as well as busking in downtown Holland, MI. Ken also now teaches ukulele classes and builds, rescues and repairs ukuleles and other string instruments.
Creativity is the thread that connects everything Ken does. Ken uses his creativity in developing and implementing unique products and marketing campaigns, training people how to implement creativity tools and techniques, instructing people how to bake “Ken Bread”, guiding people through the building of backyard compost bins and how to use them, evaluating energy efficiency and environmental stewardship and performing and teaching ukulele.
With over 65+ jobs and/or enterprises (including co-producing 4 Flash Mobs) throughout his adult life, Ken is always seeking the “next adventurous” scheme, project or event. Ken’s Personal Mission Statement: I encourage and empower people to use their creative talents and to be stewards of our natural resources. I make an active contribution every day towards improving our world. I do this by collecting resources and sharing them graciously
